The Day God Repented, because He Repented
There are often times we
are sorry about something we did or said. We do an about face and repent. But
have you ever been sorry you repented? Most of us would say, “No.” Repentance
brings newness and freedom. We find that repenting is more than just spoken
words. It is a lifestyle. The lifestyle that God’s Creation was living in
Genesis 6 was perverse and sinful. God saw the wickedness of man and was sorry
that He ever made humans and He vowed to destroy them all. However Noah, who
found grace in the eyes of the Lord was spared. He built the arc as God
instructed, and was not sorry he did that as the rain began to fall. After the
flood Noah built an altar. Then God placed the rainbow in the sky and vowed He
would never destroy the world by water again. He was sorry that He had been
sorry for making man. Later we find that God is not sorry for what He has
placed within each of us. The gifts and callings of God are without repentance.
He will not take them from us. He patiently waits for us to give to Him what He
put in us. Talents used for the world are intended to be used to bring glory to
God. God is not mad at us, but longs for us to repent and come to Him. It is
not His desire for any to go to hell and does not send anyone there. He does
not want to destroy man, but longs for us to live with Him for all eternity.
After we repent we must forget past mistakes that are under the blood of
Calvary. Stop reminding God of sins from your past. He has forgotten them and
is not sorry that He made you.
