How to be Molded

 Text: Exodus 16:15 Romans 8:28-29

There is one form of mold that can be defined as fungi wearing a furry coat. Sunday we saw some of this type of mold displayed as Pastor asked, “Is there any fungus among us?” Our walk with God must be a daily walk. We must have a fresh relationship with Him through His Word daily. We cannot survive if we try to sustain ourselves with molded bread. In the Lord’s Prayer we repeat the line, “Give us this day our daily bread.” Do we realize what we are asking the Lord to give us? We cannot live on yesterday’s blessings. God’s mercies are made new every morning - we are changed from glory to glory. Stale will make you stumble. God has fresh baked bread every day. This fresh baked bread shapes us into the image of our Creator. Being shaped is another definition for mold. To be molded is to be fashioned or framed with a design, taking on the shape of a container. Jell-O will take on the form of whatever container it is placed in after it jells. What shape are we Christians taking on; are we jelling into the shape of Christ? We have a treasure hidden in these earthly vessels (containers.) If we are to contain the Holy Spirit we must make sure our vessel is clean. Christ must be formed in us. When people see us they are supposed to see Christ. We must not be conformed to the world around us. We must become molded into the image of God; so that we will not be moved by the world and become molded like stale bread.
