Ending of An Error
The Ending of an Error and the Beginning of an Era
Text: I John 4:6, Joel 2:23-29
As each new year begins we must remember the beginning of anything new is predicated by the ending of the old. A new start requires a new stop. Many periods of time are defined as new seasons. Seasons are short lived, whereas eras continue on for many years. 2011 promises to be the beginning of a new era for Word of Life Church. But before this new era can begin we must first end old errors. From the text we learn the spirit of God that is within us reveals the error of our ways to us. We must learn to be set in God’s ways, not our ways. Era and error are similar words with the beginning of one predicated by the ending of the other. Error is defined as a fault, to go astray, to wander, a wrong mode of acting, to stray mentally. If our minds are stayed on Christ, our thoughts cannot wander so far as to override our conscious. It is necessary that none of us be actively involved in any type of sin error if we expect to enter into a new era. This new era is going to be defined as one of character. It is time each of us are Godly men and women at all times, not just at church on Sunday. It is time we are who Christ calls us to be in Him every single day. In this new era we are entering we can now step into our individual destinies bringing the entire body to achieve greatness as the former and latter rains come down together. Years will be restored to us as we identify our error and enter into the new era.
